Job Title: Children’s Support Worker

Are you someone who connects easily with children, has a calm and confident presence, and wants to make a meaningful difference in a young person’s life? We’re looking for multiple Children’s Support Workers to join a small but vital team supporting three young people with additional needs in Tunbridge Wells. Each child has a different routine, but they all need patient, proactive support to help them stay safe, engaged, and happy in the community.

At NursLink Homecare, we help people live the life they choose—in their own homes and beyond. But it’s not just about our clients—it’s about you, too. Whether you’re looking to develop your care career, gain new qualifications, or simply do something truly fulfilling, we’ll support you every step of the way.

You do need a full driving license and access to your own vehicle to work as a Children’s Support Worker with us. This is because all our clients live in their own homes in the community.

About the Role

Each child has different needs, but all benefit from high-quality 2:1 support. You might be helping one child manage sensory regulation and avoid unsafe behaviours while out and about, supporting another who struggles with transitions and emotional dysregulation, or providing calm structure for a very active young person who loves cycling, exploring the town centre, and making YouTube videos about supercars and his adventures with his support team. This is a great opportunity to build rapport over time and make a real impact.

As a Children’s Support Worker, your responsibilities may include:

  • Supporting children with autism, ADHD, and complex emotional needs
  • Assisting with emotional regulation and de-escalation
  • Promoting safe access to the community (e.g. park trips, soft play, library visits)
  • Providing structure, reassurance, and boundaries during outings
  • Managing behaviours such as absconding, self-injury, or resistance to transitions
  • Building trusting relationships and offering consistent, reliable support

You’ll be part of a rota-based team, providing care outside of school hours and during weekends or holidays. This role is ideal for experienced Children’s Support Workers who are confident in lone-working within a 2:1 structure and enjoy supporting children with varied routines.

What We Offer

  • £14 per hour
  • Excellent training and access to QCF Diplomas and specialised courses
  • Flexible working and a good work-life balance
  • Weekly pay
  • Self-employed or PAYE options
  • Free DBS
  • Regular hours and work planned in advance
  • Supportive team that truly understands and values carers
  • £250 refer-a-friend bonus (T&Cs apply)
  • Regular clients and full introductions to each family
  • Regular check-ins and support from your Line Manager (virtual or face-to-face)
