Job Title: Children’s Support Worker

We’re looking for a friendly, patient, and proactive Children’s Support Worker to support a young man in the Kent area with complex health needs. Josh is a bright, sociable teenager who loves music, dancing, reading, going to the library, and playing board games. He’s also a big Harry Potter fan and enjoys the occasional day out when he’s feeling up for it.

This is a great opportunity for someone experienced in supporting young people with disabilities to become part of a well-structured and rewarding care package. You’ll be working closely with his mum and our wider care team to help Josh feel safe, supported, and confident in his day-to-day routine.

You’ll need a full driving licence and access to your own vehicle for this Children’s Support Worker role, as all of our clients are supported in their own homes out in the community.

What You’ll Be Doing

Josh has a movement disorder, visual and hearing impairments, and uses a PEG when unwell. He communicates well but needs extra time to process and respond—patience and clear communication are essential.

As a Children’s Support Worker, you’ll support with:

  • Personal care, including dressing, washing, and oral hygiene
  • Support with mobility and preventing falls while walking
  • Encouraging and supervising daily activities like reading, board games, or music
  • Trips to the library, walks, or quiet community outings
  • Monitoring energy levels and supporting rest when fatigued
  • Helping with medication prep (school and mum-led) and PEG feed support when required
  • Being an extra pair of hands around the house and offering reassurance when Josh is unwell

Josh boards at school during the week, so most shifts take place on weekends or during school holidays. He prefers to meet new carers alongside his mum first, so relationship-building and consistency are key.

What We Offer

  • £14 per hour
  • Excellent training and access to QCF Diplomas and specialised courses
  • Flexible working and a good work-life balance
  • Weekly pay
  • Self-employed or PAYE options
  • Free DBS
  • Regular hours and work planned in advance
  • Supportive team that truly understands and values carers
  • £250 refer-a-friend bonus (T&Cs apply)
  • Full introductions and ongoing support from your Line Manager

Sound like your kind of role? Book a time with us today and find out how you can support Josh in living a life full of music, books, and great conversation.
