Looking for something more meaningful than just another job? If you’ve got a kind heart, lots of patience, and a genuine passion for supporting others, we’d love to meet you. We’re hiring a Children’s Support Worker in Newport to join a lovely daytime package supporting a bright, bubbly young girl who brings joy to everyone around her.
At NursLink Homecare, we’re all about helping people stay safe and happy in their own homes – but it doesn’t stop there. We’re big believers in supporting our team too. Whether you want to gain new qualifications, grow your skills in more complex care, or just find a role that feels rewarding day-to-day, we’ve got your back. If you’re looking for a place where you’re truly valued, this could be the one.
You do need a full driving license and access to your own vehicle to work as a Children’s Support Worker with us. This is because all our clients live in their own homes in the community.
About the Role
We’re supporting a young person who loves Disney Junior, listening to music on her Tonie box, and getting out and about in her wheelchair. She has an existing care team and this is a 2:1 support package that continues outside of school hours, including occasional waking nights to support the wider rota. You’ll be supporting with:
- Personal care routines and comfort
- Managing epilepsy and PEG feeding (full training provided)
- Encouraging communication and emotional engagement
- Keeping her calm, settled, and safe during transitions
- Light household support as needed
- Providing gentle, patient companionship during her afternoon and early evening routines
- Working alongside a brilliant family who know her inside out
This Children’s Support Worker role is ideal for someone who has experience with epilepsy, PEG feeding (training provided), visual impairments, and emotional regulation support. You’ll need to be empathetic, reliable, and confident managing routines in a calm environment. If you’ve worked as a Children’s Support Worker before, especially with children who have complex needs, this role will feel familiar and incredibly rewarding. We’re looking for a Children’s Support Worker who truly wants to make a difference.
